7 FLOODS IN VICTORIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, June 12, ' Floods in the Trafalgar district have destroyed much of the crops, includinghundreds of tons of onions. Some of the residents were compelled to leave their houses. SNOW IN SYDNEY. Sydney, June 12. There is bitterly cold weather, with ? gentle snowfall. There have been heavy frosts in many districts. Light snow has been known to fall as far north in Australia, occasionally, as latitude 31 deg. S., and from the eastern to western shores of the continent. This would be about 350 miles north of Sydney. During exceptional wasons snow has fallen simultaneously over two-thirds of the State of New South AVnles. and has extended at times along tho whole of the Great Dividing Range from its southern extremity in Victoria as far north as Toowoomba, ill Queensland. During the winter snow covers the ground to a great extent on the Australian Alps for several months, where also the temperature falls below zero Fahrenheit during the night, and in tho ravines around Kosciusko and similar localities the snow never entirely disappears.
