COAL VEND PROSECUTION.
RAILWAY CONTRACTS AND COAL PRICES. By Telecraph—Press Association—Copyrieht (Rec. June 12, 9.10 p.m.) * Sydney, June 12. The evidence taken to-day in the prosecution of the Newcastle Coal Vend under the Anti-Trust Act dealt with the Railway Commissioner's contracts, the object being to show that they had little bearing on increases in the price oF coal. Further evidence was also given regarding the operation of Messrs. Kethel and Company's mine by the strikers during the Newcastle coal strike. Very little that was fresli was disclosed.
