Alexander William Ironsides, who ivna arrested on a charge of having stolen £700, the properly of tho Public Trustee, was remanded to Christchurch. When prisoner was arrested ho had twenty-fivo pounds in his possession. Christchurch, June 12. In connection with tho Press Association message in reference to defalcations at tho local branch of tho Public Trust Office, Dr. Fitchett, Public Trustee, has telegraphed to the district manager hero that only one member.of the staff, A. W. Ironside, is involved, and ho has been arrested, and will appear at tho Magistrate's Court, Christchurch, to-mor-row. Jlr. M. C. Barnett, district manager, states t hat no other member of the local staff other than Ironside is implicated in tho affair.
