HARRIERS.

On Saturday afternoon tho Brooklyn Harriers held their three-mile eeaUd handicap at Miramar, 18 competitora facing the starter (Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., the club's president). From au even start, C. .Murray at once set out to make the pace a cracker, but after about a mile had been covered ho was displaced by F. Byrne and V. Byrne. When reaching the old golf-houso Murray caught V. Byrne, but F. Byrne had in the meantime cracked oh the pace, and covered (he distance in the splendid time of 17 min. 45soc, with V. Byrne and C. Murray second and third respectively. After tho handicaps had been adjusted it was found that Sam. Murray had won the ■event, with 15 seconds to spare, from F. Byrne and V. Byrne, with C. Murray and ,T. Don tying for third place. For making fastest time F. Byrne takes a trophy donated by one of the club members. The club afterwords entertained their friends at afternoon tea and Mr. R. A. Wright and Dr. Conzcns (vice-presi-dent) congratulated tho members on the result of the race.

Twenty-two members of the Wellington Harriers turned out on Saturday for tho run from Thorndon Baths. F. Rollo and P. Dement were dispatched with the paper, and succeeded in laying as good a course as has yet been laid from (ho Thorndon Baths. The trail led up tho new Wadestown tram route, through some good country towards Wilton , * Bush, down towards Knrori, thence to tho top of the ridge overlooking the citr, where a eood sprint was indulged in, back to the Wndestown Rond and home, via the Thorndon Esplanade. H. J. Pollock acted as pacemaker. The run-in was won by C. Rowberry, with F. Rowhwry second and W. Press third. Twenty-four entries have been received for tho Palmer Cup race- (three miles), to be hold at Miramar next Saturday. Jtr. C. Lamber" has resigned his position as secretary to the club. At iho close of Ihe run a general nipctih<; was hold, rind Mr. Tl O'Neil was elected to the position. A committee was also formed for the purpose of working up details in connection, with the annual dance.
