THE PUEIPUHI MURDER. His Excellency the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive on Saturday, when the case of the young Maori, Tahi Kaka, who was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of a gumdigjjcr named Freeman at Puhipiihi, in the North Auckland disttict, was considered. It was decided that the law should take its course. At the trial Kaka was recommended to mercy on account of his youth.
