WELLINGTON HOMING SOCIETY; ' Tho fifteenth annual meeting.. of the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society waß held at the Tiffin Rooms on Wednesday, Mr. M. G. Grcnside in the chair. Th?ro was an attendance of over a down members. The annual report of tho 'committee stated that the financial position of the society was; very satisfactory, there being a credit balance of .£2C Is. 10d., while tho assets exceeded tho liabilities by Xl 9. Referring to (lie past season's competitions, the report stated that Iho racing had been very keen, twothirds of tho members scoring wins, and. seven him per Aggregates being distributed among six members. In many of tho races the finishes .bad been to close is to be almost a dead-heat. It was strongly urged that consideration be givm by members to the purchase of better and more .ip-10-daie racing-clocks, the present timers in usu having been proved very unsatisfactory. Tho experience of last season's training of young birds south showed that the results had been disastrous, and it was open (o qucstioa whethtr tho present "facilities for training south would ever lead to satisfactory results with young birds. It was, therefore, recommended that tho south youngbird hamper b? deleted from the programme. The Maritime Champion trophy was won by Mr. J. IT. Clark (30 points), Mr. A. Clark (38 points) being second, and Mr. Bailey third. Mr. J. H. Clark also won the young-bird cup (11 points), and the'first leg-in for the "Produce Tropin- Fund" prize. Mr. A. ! Clark (.10 points) ,'itcurrel second leff-iu for tho five-guinea trophy. The thanks of tho society were due to Captain Edwin, Mr. T. Ronayne, Tiif, Dominion, and Messrs. Greeks, 'F. Neilfon,. G. Grcnside, P. W. Lamb, W E. Jackson, J. Goer, R. Lewis, and IC. Hoare, for donations of trophies, and also to those who had acted as liberators. Speaking to the motion for the adoption of (lie report, tho chairman congratulated members on tho cxcellcnc position in which the society now stead.
