4 RE-TRIAL GRANTED AT LAST MOMENT. By Telesraph—l'rcss Association-Oopyright Ottawa, Juno 7. Gunner Allen, of tho Canadian Garrison Artillery, who was accused of tho murder of his commanding officer, Captain Elliston, in August of last year, has been found guilty of manslaughter, Sentenco has been deferred. Allen was previously hold guilty of murder, and sentenced to death.' Tho gallows had been erected, and tho preparations completed for the execution, when the Supreme Court of Canada, which had been appealed to, granted the appeal, and ordered a rehearing of the case. The defence was insanity.
