Customs duties collected at tl'.o port of "Wellington yesterday amounted to £1658 53. lOd. HEMP AND TOW GRADING. The Department of Apiculture* forwards a return showing the Quantities of hemp and tow graded at the ports of the Dominion, during tho month of May:— Hemp.—Tho total number of bales graded was 7777, ns compared with for the corresponding month of last year—a decrease of <5225 ba!o?. For the twelve months ending May 31 the number graded was 101,253, as compared with 117.526 for the previous twelve months, or & decrease of 16,273 bales. Tow.—During tho month 2276 bales wore dealt with, as compared with 3236 for the corresponding month of last year, or a of 1560 bales.
