ROUBAIX WOOL EXHIBITION.
AUSTRALIAN PAVILION OPENED. By TtilcEraph—Press Association—CoDyrlebt Paris, June C. Mr. Batclielor, Australian Minister for External Affairs, is visiting the Koubaix wool exhibition. He received an enthusiastic reception. In a speech, he stated that France took one-third of the Australian wool, and added that the French would find tho Australian meat as good as the wool. The Mayor said it was necessary that Australia should advertise in Franco. The exhibition had already had good results. He added that he hoped Australia ivould not neglect the production of fine wools. . In opening the Australian Pavilion, Mr. Batchelor again urged the. extension .of trade between Australia and France, particularly in regard to meat. Roubaix is one of tho greatest centres of the wool trade in Europe. The exhibition is stated to bo tho first that has been held in connEction with wool and its allied industries. New Zealand, as well as Australia, has a pavilim of its own at the exhibition. The New Zealand exhibit includes over ninety representative fleeces, embracing practically every grade of wool grown in the Dominion.
