LEPROSY IN RATS.
Discovert in Melbourne,
By Teleeraph—Press Association—Oopyrierhi Melbourne, June 7. A rat in a dying state was discovered in a dwelling in a southern suburb. It was found to be infccted with leprosy. This is tho second leprous rodent found in the same district. NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. (Roc. June 7, 9.15 p.m.) Sydney, Juno 7. Dr. J. A. Thompson, President of the Board of Health, states that the discovery of leprosy in rats reported from Melbourne is not a new thing, although it is rare. Leprous rats havo been found in many parts of the world, including some in Sydney last year. Human beings have nothing to fear.
