MEASLES.
'■-• : THE SCHOOL REGULATIONS. Measles are having a good innings in Wellington just now, and the attendauco in several of the city Echools is affected. This is not caused so much by the absence of children who are suffering from this highly infectious malady as through the number of brothers and sisters of the patient who are not permitted to answer the call of the school-bell, so long as there bo one member of the family suffering. Each of Hie State school headmasters is supplied with certain information by the Health Department for their guidance in cases of outbreaks of infectious diseases among the scholars. Those referring to measles are as follow:— "Duration of Infection.—From two to four weeks, or until all cough and branny shedding of skin has ceased." "Date at which school attendance may be resumed.—Not less than three weeks from the beginning of the rash. Peeling must be complete."
