RTJDD'S APPEAL DISMISSED. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) Christchurch, June 2. Tho New Zealand Posing Council last evening dismissed Rudd's appeal against tho disqualification imposed by tho Hawko's Bay Association, und decided that tho association was amply justified in itsaction, and, further, that in view of what occurred in tho ring in tho Rudd-Black-more contest, neither man bo given further matches in New Zealand or bo allowed to identify himself with' sport m the Dominion,
The council recommended that tho New Zealand championships be held at Invercnrgill on July 21 and 25. The Queensland Association reported that the Australasian championships would commence at Brisbane on September 7. THE WESTPORT TOURNEY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Westport, June 2. Tho Westport Boxing Association's tourney opened to-night, all events being for amateurs, in six-round bouts. Motlilt (Denniston) defeated O'Neill (Westport), on points, and Hnvill (Palmerston North) defeated White. (Westport). In tho second round Whito claimed a foul, which lhe referee disallowed, and ho was counted out. "Tuke" Morris, tho well-known AVangnnui amateur welter-weight, who defeated Hogan at tho AVanganui tourney last week, is moving down to Wellington, and, in all probability, will bo a competitor at tho provincial championship meeting at tho Exhibition Stadium on Juno 23. Anothler competitor of noto will bo Shields, of Palmerston North, who will dispute tho "feather" honours with Ellis, the local champion in that division.
