FAREWELL TO MEXICO.
DIAZ SAILS FOR EUROPE. By Telegraph—l'rcss ABSociation-Copyrisbt (Rec. Juno 2, 0.5 a.m.) Mexico City, June 1. Ex-President Diaz has sailed from Vera Cruz for Lo Harve. He intends to settle in Spain. In bidding farewell to a group of Army officers General Diaz assured them that he would always heed his country's call if ho were needed in tho future. He warned them that the present Government: must follow Diaz methods if peace were to be established. Before departing, the aged general tearfully embraced his late officers. THIRTY PERSONS KILLED IN RIOTS. Mexico City, May 31. Thirty persons were killed and many injured during a riot at San Luis Potosi, a town of about 61,000 inhabitants, 350 miles north of the capital. The mob fought the police for four hours.
