ißy Tclcsrraph.-Spocia! Correspondent.! Hasterton, Ma" 27. Empire Day was celebrated by holding a special service for men in St. Matthew's .Church this afternoon. There was a large attendance, including the military and the Battalion Band. The dog .trials in connection with the Masterton Collie Club wore concluded yesterday, thc teams match resulting as follows:— F. W. Jones's team, 50 points,. 1; S. Hay's team, -18 points, 2; R. Goodin's team. 43 points, 3. The ladies' bracelet, event in connection with the Masterton Homing Pigeon Club was flown from Woodville on Saturday, and resulted'in a win for Mr. Drake's Veranifo, with Mr. A. Jlilier's Trumpeter second.
