The paths of stipendiary magistrates have not been strewn with roses since the arrangement was made under which (hey have to undertake: the duties of coroners in addition to their ordinary Court work. Aβ an indication of the extra work that inquests entail, it may be stated that, on one afternoon recently. Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M., held no fewer than three inquests at the Morgue. During the past three daj6, his Worship has had a particularly busy time. He was called to Porirua on both Friday and Saturday, and couducted one inquest in tho city on Saturday and two yesterday.
