OBITUARY.

fr MR. W. B. PAEKEE, J.P, IBy Telegraph—Press Association.! Blenheim, May 26. The death occurred suddenly last evening of Mr. William Bcnoni Parker, J.P. Deceased, who was born in London in 1837, came to New Zealand in ISCI. Afler spending three years on the Otago goldfields he came to Marlborongh, where he has since resided. Ho was one. of tho founders of tho Methodist Church in Blenheim, and at the timo of his death was trustee and senior circuit steward. He was also chairman of tho Wairnu Hospital Board and tho Omaka Cemetery Board, and a member of tho Omaka Road Board for twenty-six years. Ho was a member of tho Marlboroiigh Education Board, and was an ex-councillor. On Wednesday evening ho delivered a public lecture on his early experiences in Victoria, where for somo years ho had resided before coming to New Zealand. Ho leaves a widow and fivo sous.
