ACCIDENTS ON Till: WHARF
■V wharf labourer, named Samuel Charles Gibson, employed by the Union Company, sustained a broken leg on the wharf yesterday afternoon. He was engaged in landing case fruit from the Manuka, and had the misfortune to have his leg caught between the wharf unci a sling of caies. After being attended to by jjr. Heard, shin's surgeon, the patient, was removed to the hospital. Gibson is a married man, residing at 240 Taranaki Street. Morris Franklin, a resident of \\ alter Street, injured his back rather severely yesterday, while engaged in working cargo on the s.s. Swanley. Dr. Henry attended the injured man, who was afterwards removed to his home in the ambulance.
KNOCKED DOWN BY DEAG. (By Telegraph —Special Correspondent.) Masterton, May 25. A man named William Wilkersou, insurance agent, formerly of Fetone, was knocked down by the Masterton drag on the Carterton Road to-night while riding a. motor-cycle. He sustained two fractured ribs and sovere injuries to the head and body. Dr. Cowie dressed the wounds, and bro'ught the injured man to his homo in Masterton. FOUND DEAD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Nelson, May 25. Mr. William Orsman, aged 85, one of the oldest residents of the city, was found dead in a stable on his premises to-day. Death is presume! to be due to heart disease.
