KING'S SCOUTS.

A CHALLENGE TO BOY SCOUTS. The following circular has t«en received by llr. W. Gray, Commissioner of Wellington Province, Dominion Boy Scout Organisation, from Lieutenant-Colonel Cossgrove, V.D., Dominion Chief Scout:— "His Majesty the King haying given a generous contribution to the fund raised recently in aid of the Boy Scouts headquarters, the Executive Committee has decided to' devote that amount to the promotion of loyalty, and with that, object will present a challenge standard to tho troop consisting of not less" than twenty-four lads iu each of the following countries:—United Kingdom, Canada New Zealand, Australia, South Africa— which has the largest percentage of King's Scouts on September 30 in each year, commencing in 1911. Each kins s Scout must have been a member of the troop for six months prior to September 30. The winning troop to bo-called the King's Troop of the United Kingdom, Canada; New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa respectively for the year. The scoutmaster and assistant-scoutmas-ters of the winning troop who are members of that troop on September 30 havin" =ervcd at least six months with the troop, will be presented by tho Hcadciuarters' Council with a badge of merit. In case of equality of the numbers of King's Scouts or any other difficulty the allocation of tho prize will be decided by tho chief scout of each country or dominion.—J. A. Kyle, Secretary.
