Through the failure of tlio -winding gear at the Sons of Gwalia liiino at Mount Leonora, North Coolgardio, tlio skip containing ten men fell to the bottom of a shaft 2000 foot in dopth. Tile cable parted and fell on top of the skip. Mr.' Frank Rooncy, an assistant surveyor, was killed, and Mr. Adams, a surveyor, isnotcxpccted to recover. Six minors ivere seriously injured.

TWO MINERS KILLED

Perth, May 22. Harry Angwin, shift boss, and Williams, a miner, .were working at the Eclipse mine, Kalgoorlie, when fifty tons of earth fell and buried them. Both were killed.
