ONSLOW COUNCIL MOVING,

At the meeting of the Onslbw Borough Council last night, Councillor Boivden moved tho following rather important r'eeolution "That a deputation consisting of members of the Onslqw Borough Council be appointed to wait upon the Wellington City Council in order to urge the desirability of extending the tramways from the present terminus at Thorndoii Esplanado to Kaiwarra as speedily as possible." It. was pointed out by tho mover that such an extension would bo a ercat boon to residents of Kaiwarra and surroundings, especially to thoso working in the city. The Wellington City Council controlled that portion of tho road, and ho did not anticipate much trouble in getting tho matter fixed up. A petition it now being circulated in the borough with this object in view, and should the Wellington City Council not entertain tho proposal, it is likely that a deputation will be arranged to wait upon the Minister for Railways. The Mayor pointed out that, embodied in the Hutt Road and Railway Act, thcro is a proviso which sets out that no electric traction lino, etc., shall be carried parallel to tho railway line. This might probably bo ono of tho objections which the city council might bp inclined to raise. After 601 HO further discussion, tho motion was put and carried,
