PROGRESS 01 , REGISTRATION.
During the last week or so the registration returns from tho various military districts of the Dominion have shown a sensible increase, and although there is little doubt that there will be a fhortogo on Juno 2, indications point to tho iact (hat the extent of tho deficiency will be largolv reduced by tho returns of Use next two weeks. Up to May C last; the total registrations for tho territorials amounted to 9352, and for the senior endots 15,730. During the week following, up to Mur 13 (Saturday last), 3359 territorials had been registered, and f/o'i cadets, bringing the grand total to date up to 12,091 territorials, and 22,039 senior eadets-31,730 nil told. To this number must bo added those liablo to register who are at present serving in tho territorials or senior cndctf, and who aro being registered by separate lists. These arc estimated to account for 12,000 territorials and 5500-senior cadets, or a total of 17,500, fo that, all told, 52,230 hnvo nonbeen accounted for. As about 71,000 aro liable, 13,770 must register before Juno 2 next or become liable to penalties under the Act. Details of last week's registrations in the various districts arc as follow :— „ .
