SEARCn FOR A BODY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.') Wcstport, May l(i. , The body has not: yet been recovered of John M'Xichol, who was drowned while fishing in liuller roadstead last week. A heavy roller washed him out of his boat while overhauling set lines. OLD ACE PENSIONER'S ACT. Westport, May 10. A verdict of suicide while of unsound mind was returned at the. inquest on John Furze, vho was found hanging in a hut on Sunday morning. Deceased was an old age pensioner, aged seventy-one. No cause is assigned for the deed. IN KAITANGATA MINE. Dunedin, May 10. John M'Ghee, a miner, aged thirty-five, was killed by n fall of coal in the Kaitangata mine last night. CAUGHT IN THE BELTING. A serious aTcident occurred at the biscuit factory in Crawford Street yesterday afternoon, when Charles Mardell, an employee, was caught in the belting of sonio machinery and had his left leg terribly injured below the knee. When the miI'ortunalo man had been extricated ho was removed to the hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate (he leg below the knee. At a late hour last night the patient was in a serious condition. Ho is a single man residing in Einiuclt Street.
