Further, Captain Wildman. master of tho Wnimoa, also reports passing a largo tree, 70ft. long, 18 miles from.Rocks Points,, and bearing S.3W. This i 3 in the track of Westport shipping. MO ANA, FROM SYDNEY. Advice received by the Union Company from Sydney states that, this week's direct boat—tho Moana—left the wharf for Wellington at 2 p.m. on Saturday with 126 passengers for all ports." She should arrive in port to-morrow morning.
MAPOURIKA FOR OVERHAUL. On her arrival at Wellington from Wost Coast ports and Nelson next Saturday, the Mapourika is to withdraw for her annual overhaul and inspection. The Takapuno, will relieve the Mapourika. ANOTHER NEW ZEALAND TRADER. It is understood that Captain Schulz, of the borquentine Mary Isabel, leaves Sydney this month for London to take chargo of a new steamer now building for the New Zealand trade. Captain Cooper, late of the shiD Dartford, will have charge of the Mary Isabel. lONIC DTJE NOON TO-MORROW. Cable advice received by the local agents of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company Etates that R.M.S. lonic left Hobart at 10 a.m. on Saturday, in continuation of her voyage from London to Wellington. She is expected to put iu an appearance in the stream about noon to-morrow. The liner has 15.000 cases of apples for transhipment to the Tainui for London. WIRELESS ON TOE ROTORTJA. On her arrival at London from New Zealand this trip the Now Zealand Shinping Company's. R.M.S. Rotorua will have \vircles3 telegraphy apparatus installed on board. All other passenger stcamerß of the fleet will be similarly fitted. The Rotorua is credited with having made a last run of. nine hours up the coast from .Timaru to Lyttclton recently. The distance is 118 miles. EAKAIA'S OUTWARD CARGO. Following is a Eummary of the principal lines of cargo taken by the N.Z.S. Company's steamer Rakaia from. New Zealand p0rt5:—39,852 carcasses mutton and lamb, 2824 bales wool and skin 3, 38,304 sacks grain, and 376 aaslts tallow, pelts, etc. Following is a complete summary >of the cargo :—l'Yom Lyttclton: 11,437 carcasses mutton and lamb, 9640 sacks grain, 668 bales wool, 123 casks tallow, 50 casks pelts, and 1 package sundries. From Timaru: 201 bales wool, 28,664 sacks wheat, 18,843 carcasses mutton and lamb, 60 casks tallow, 10 casks pelts, 278 crates kidneys. From Oamaru: 1506 bales wool and 48 bales skins. From Duncdin: 9566 carcasses mutton and lamb, 375 bales wool, 1 bale sheepskins, 25 bales rabbitskins, 110 casks tallow, 20 casks pelts, and 3 casks suet.

Latest advices received by the Union Company from Grcymouth yesterday intimate that both the Arahura, and Pohcrua arc detained, tho former outside and the latter inside the bar, owing to bad weather. Captain H. AVilliams, master of tho schooner Annie JIIII. is now recovering from his recent indisposition, and expects lo join the vessel on Iter next trip to Lyttelton. At 11 a.m. to-day the Itakanoa is to lcavo Westport for Wellington with a load of coal. The Tavinni is oxnectcd to clear Greymouth on the same run also. Leaving Sydney en Saturday last for Auckland and Wellington, tho Tyser Line's .steamer Star of Canada is expected here about Hay 25. The Delphic, which arrived at Auckland from Liverpool on Sunday, is not expected to arrive at Wellington beforo May 23. Waitemata, s.s., is to lcavo Auckland, in continuation of her journey from Calcutta to Wellington, to-day. She should bo here on Thu,rsday. At 5.30 o'clock on Sunday evening the Scales chartered steamer Clan Koss arrived at Auckland from Dunbury, with a cargo of jarrah timber, Subsequently she visits Wellington and other ports in tho Dominion. Tho "I" Line's new steamer Ihuniatii has been chartered to load a cargo of nroduco at Gcelong and Adelaide for Auckland. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Paparna leaves port to-day for Port Chalmers. Heavy rain has delayed tho loading of the F.-U.-S. steamer Morayshire at Napier. The vessel is not now expected to reach Wellington until to-morrow.
