LETTER TO DEFENCE MINISTER, The following letter has been addressed io the Acting-Minister for Defeuco by Mr. Cecil W. Palmer, local secretary lor the Navy League:— "Sir,—l beg to say that various inquiries have been mode at my office (and by letter) as to whether boys and young men employed in the ceastal mercantile marine- could not be allowed to do their training on board a man-of-war or on the Aniokura, in lieu of service ashore.
