——9 To-day the Hon. James Carroll will bo in Mastcrton, the Hon. J. A. Millar in Wellington, the Hon. G. Fowlds in Auckland, the Hon. It. Af'lvenzie in Wellington, the Hon. D. Buddo in Southland, the Hon. T. Alackeuzie in Wellington, and tho Hon. A. T. Ngala on the- East Coast. The Hon. J. Carroll (Acting-Prime. Minister) went to Alastertou yesterday. Tho Hon. J. A. Millar will pay a visit to Picton to-morrow. Ho will proceed immediately to Blenheim, where no will receive a joint deputation from the Blenheim and Picton Borough Councils, introduced by Air. J. Duncan, ALP, Ho will remain at Blenheim to-morrow night, and on Thursday he will bo entertained at luncheon by tiio Pieton Borough 'Council, and will attend the ceremony of driving tho iirst pile in the new j'icton wharf. He returns to Wellington on Thursday livening. Major-General A. C.8., commanding the JNew Zealand Forces, returned irom his tour in Tarnuaki last evening, 'the General leaves to-morrow on a llyiug viiit to Southland, alter which he will visit the Hawko's Bay district. Lieutenant-Colonel A. Bauchop, C'.JI.G., of tut Aew Zealand Deieuce iorces, ami now at tho built College, Camuenev, was recently attacned to the Koyui Artniery at Salisbury Plain, lor a mouth's instruction. Tho Hon. B. M'Keuzie returned to Wellington last evening lroui his extensive tour m the Tiiramisi and Upper itungitikei districts. Sir Heury Ripley, Bart., arrived from the soutn on Sunday, and lelt tor Tokaauu (where ho is to do some troutusliiiig) yesterday morning. While in tho Soutn Island, sir Henry lupley visited tile Cold Lakes, and was much charmed with tho scenery, which is just now assuming its winter aspect. Sir .Henry Kipley is tho third baronet of a line created as lately as 1680, and is only .12 years of age. He inherited the Redstone Court and Hoptou Castle Estates, Salop, in 11)03, when ho resigned bis lieutenancy in the Ist Koyal Dragoons, with which regiment he had served two and a half years in South Africa. Mr. A. G. Millington, gaoler at Wellington, is unwell, and his duties at the current criminal sessions of the Supreme Court are being performed by the chief warder, Mr. A. W. Roberts. Mr. H. 11. Ostler, Crown Prosecutor at Wellington, returned from a holiday in the liotorua district by the Main Trunk train yesterday afternoon. Friends of Mr. R. M. Drummond. Central Terrace, Kelburne, will be pleased to learn that he is making a satisfactory recovery alter his recent serious illness. Messrs. C. 11. Burridse and G. Francis, of Petone. leave Wellington to-day on a visit to England. Air. Leslie H. Reynolds, C.E., left last night for Wanganui, to advise upon the extension of tho harbour scheme, with a view to introduce the deep-draught ocean liners. Mr. E. TV. Kingston. Australasian manager of Cailler's, the Swiss chocolate firm, is at presjut making a business and Dleasure tour of New Zealand.
