CITY CANNOT SUPPLY POWER. Some littlo time ago the Hutt Valley Tramway Board wrote to the City Council in reference to the matter of a supply of current from the city electrical works for the board's tramway scheme. A report on the matter, prepared by the city tramway manager and en"ineer (Mr. Stuart Richardson) was submitted to a meeting of the Tramways Committee of the City Council yesterday, afternoon Mr. Richardson stated that, assuming that the city provided the plant, an expenditure of some .£OOOO would bo involved, and the council would require to be recouped in sonio way for this expenditure.
