Miss R. W. Richmond's "Poplars" is sound in drawing and sweet in colour. There are two very strongly-treated landscapes in water colour by Miss Jessie Newton, and a charming little view in the Hutt Valley by Miss Ina Lee. Miss May Lingard's best oil is her. "Asters," in which she has evolved a pleasant scheme out of a somewhat darine riot of colour. The president of the club is represented by one oil, a "Nocturne," which shows careful and conscientious work on an' ambitious subject in the treatment of which Mr. Rayward has not been entirely unsuccessful, though better work has been shown from bis easel. in eddilion to the examples which have been individually referred to thero .is much other good work and many pleasing nietnres, including examples 'by Baldwin Warne.
