ACCIDENTAL POISONING.
DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN LADYV.
A sad fatality occurred at Karori yesterday morning, when Mrs. Elizabeth! Maginnity, the widow of a well-known Wellington citizen, died as tho result of accidentally taking poison. It is • stated that a bottle of a preparation of nicotine, used iu spraying the rose bushce, had boon inadvertently placed beside a bottle of cough mixture within the residence, at Stirling Terrace, Karori, where tha deceased lived with her married daughter, Mrs. Quirk. Wishing to take a dose of cough mixture, -Mrs. Magiuuity, by a pure accident, it would 6eem t took i the wrong bottle and the result quickly ■ ' proved fatal. The deceased lady, who was much es-, teemed by n wide circle of friends and' acquaintances, leaves three daughters and two sons. The daughters are Miss Ida. Maginnity, who is well known in musical circles in Wellington; Miss Ettie Maginnity, who is on.the stage in London; and Mrs. B. Quirk, of Karori. Tha sens are Mr. John Maginnity, of Wellington, and. Mr. Ernest Maginnity, who. is in America.
An inquest will bt held at tho residence. Stirling Terrace, Karori, at 2.15 to-day.
