(By Telceraph.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, May ,2. The census return's already published indicate that the, North Island has madean even more rapid development in population than in previous periods, says tho "Herald" this morning, while progress in the South .Island has been Jess marked. It is, therefore, evident that tho Representation Commissioners will find -it necessary to mako a further ex--tension of the South Island electoral boundaries, while some of the districts of the North Island will be reduced in order to provide, for the introduction of new constituencies. It is not improbable that at tho next general election the electors of the North Island will be asked to return 44 or 45 members, while those of the.South Island will liavo to select only 32 or 31 representatives.
