The Labour} party would not agree, to a single line' of tho Bill. ' J Mr. Winston Churchill (Homo Secre-: tary) said the registration proposals were impracticable. The Bill was sent to the Grand Com* mittee. STATEMENT BY ME. CHURCHILL, ' (Eec. April 30, 5.5 p.m.) I London, April 29. J In the House of Commons Mr. Win*' ston Churchill, speaking on Mr. Goulding's Aliens Bill, declared tliat tho pro-1 posals for registration were impracticable,' inasmuch as a criminal, by taking a firstclass ticket, would bo able lo escape any' inconvenience, but tho registration of resident aliens at naval ports and mili-i tary harbours would be useful. He snp-j ported tho provision to prevent the im-' portation of strike breakers, and hoped i Mr. Gonlding's and tho Government Bills would bo favourably considered by ,ihe' Grand Committee.
