FEILDING ITEMS.
The Peilding branch of tho Farmers' Union has elected the following officers for the year:—Chairman, Mr. A. It. Mayo, ro-elceted; vice-chairman, Mr. C. Selfiy, rc-elcctc-d; committee, Messrs. M. A. Conway, Kichardson, 11. J. Booth, Jas. M'Farland, K. 0. l r rench, Hugh Burrell, A. Barrow, A. Campbell, W. G. Fry, F. Y. Letlibridge, C. A. J. LeTett, Y>. G. Pearce, J. K. M'Leunan, Henry Burrell, E. Shannon, C. Millen, jas. Barrow, W. L. Grice, and Chas. Jolmston. Messrs. Mayo and Conway were re-appointed delegates to the Provincial Conference, to bo held at 'W'oodville on May 30, with Mr. Selbv as an emergency. The card tournament, organised for tho winter months by the Friendly Societies' Council, 'begins to-night. Tho Oddfellows meet the Foresters. Tho tercentenary of the printing of the Authorised Version of the Bible was the subject of special addresses from the pulpits of the Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Primitive Methodist, and Baptist Churches, • and the Salvation Army yesterday. To-night these bodies will be associated in a public meeting on tho samo subject.
