OLD NAVALS' ASSOCIATION.
About twenty members attended the annual mewing of the Old Wellington Navals' Association .it the.boat station, Jervois Quay, last nigh:. Mr. J. Rale (vice-president) was in the chair. The annual report stated that tho Hunt's Cup (for oiieliro tournaments) had been competed i"»r twice during tho year, and ou both occasions has been won by tho Petoii'i. Association. The cutter" race, for a cup presented by Major Menzies, had been won by the association's crew, in charge of P.O. Griffiths. At tho naval encampment, a Wellington crew was beaten by one representing the association. The report deprecated tho poor . support accorded the association during tho year, and urged on members the necessity of taking a more lively interest in tho association's welfare. Tho balance-sheet showed an excess of receipts over expenditure. Tho following officers wero elected for the ensuing year:—ratron, Captain Com. C. J. Johnston; president, Colonel J. Duncan: vice-presidents, Major A. R. Hislop, V.D., Major- 15. Davy, Drs. Gillon, and Martin,. Major Cooper, Adjutant Diss, Major Menzies, Lieutenants Hume, Crnickshaiik. Denniston,' Bandmaster Cimino, and C.P.O.'s Rapo and Harris: lion secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Sinclair; auditors, Messrs. Meek and Bulford; committee, Messrs. Davenport, Sandy, Watscr, Baker, Barnes. Trevor, Griffiths, Casev, Smith, Alexander, Dawson, and Couper. A presentation of a photograph of the cutter crew which won the "White Horse" tronhy last year was lr.ado to Mr. E. T. Taylor.
