HORSES FOR SYDNEY MARKET.
WHAT SORT OF SALE? Mr. J. Anderson, Pahiatua, who took a shipment of horses to the Sydney sales at'about' Easter, was interviewed on his return to Pahiatua. He stated:— "For. some time past prices have, been i tiling for New Zealand horses, in Sydney, and dealers havo been operating, freely. Tho shipment which Mr. Anderson sent was in tho nature of an experiment, and he reports that it was of a very satisfactory nature. . This was all the more'.'gratifying, as Mr. Anderson states. the market" was simply glutted, boat-loads' of horses arriving from various ports. Good, young, useful sorts sold readily, but for other classes there was only a very moderate demand. A lino of horses which had ■been running' in . expresses, worth, say, £25 each, only realised , half their.value."
