SENSATIONAL STORY. AN AMBUSH AND ITS RESULT. By Tclcirraph—Press Assoeiation-Copyrieht St. Petersburg, April 24. A sensational blackmailing story has reached here from Archangel.
It is alleged that M. Kaskaltoff, Chief of tho Secret Police at Archangel, anonymously blackmailed 11. Kostogohoff, a millionaire, to tho time of £50 (?) by threatening that a Nihilist group would injure- his daughter by means of vitriol.
M. Kostogohoff deposited the money demanded, and arranged an ambush, which resulted in Kaskaltoff being arrested. However, ho succeeded in bluffing his captor and committed suicide before there could be any official investigation into the charges . against him.
