Two new candidates are spoken of aa desirous of becoming borouglr councillors, viz., Messrs. Andrews , and M'Cnbe. Both are comparatively new arrivals, but evidently take an interest in municipal matters.

At tho Annual meeting of tho KiniboU ton branch of the Farmers' Union, Mr. W. Morton was re-elected chairman, and Mr. J. C. Murray secretary and treasurer. The following wore appointed to tho committee-.—Messrs. Hodso, Parsons, ■ Fowler, Krull, Shnploski, Pettigrew, aiid Lowe. The chairmen was elected to represent the branch at the conference to ' Iμ held at Woodville on May 30. At the prize-giving for the year to the scholars of the Colyton Primitive Mcthodist, Sunday School, opportunity was taken to present Mr. Arthur Smith, a former superintendent with a beautiful photo frame. In speaking on behalf of tho church and school, the Rev. J. Sharp referred to tho good work done by the recipient. Mr. Smith briefly and appropriately replied.
