There- was a,' good attendance of buyers and others interested at the weekly sale of stock at Aldington to-day. There was a, fairly .representative yarding of-all descrijtibns of.stock. As regards'store sheep and fat lambs there, were good entries, .but as compared with several recent sales numbers were slightly smaller. There is an indication that matters in the fat. lamb market arc. brighter, and a distinct rise in values is to be chronicled.
Store. Sheep: The yarding was a largo one, although below that at recent sale?. It consisted of about -equal numbers of lambs and ewes, with a small proportion of wethers, which were mostly rather indifferent. The' lambs ranged from culls to fair forwards, with one pen of extra good quality. The ewes were chiefly aged. Lambs of all age 3 were easier, backward sorts being neglected. The drop is estimated at about Is., and fair-conditioned young ewes held their own, but the wethers were difficult to quit. Fair two-tooth ewes, 12s. to 13s. 3d.; inferior, 9s. to 10s. 9d.four and six-tooth. 11s. to 12s. 3d.; fourtooth (good), 10s. 6d. to Us. Fat Lambs: The yarding of fat lambs was. in the opinion of many, the host that has- been Denned this season, and the feature of the sale was the hardening of the market antf the general rise that
took place. The yarding totalled 6903. compared with 7081 list, week, nnd the average nualit.v was much higher. The sale opened briskly, ana , prices were on a par with late rates, lint it rapidly crow more animated, and a distinct rise of nuite Is. per head tool; place. Kxport buyers competed keenly, but when their rcamreme.ntF wore gratified thn sale dulled n little, and pr.ce.i dropped. Fat Sheep: As ihere was a full yarding of fa! sheep, and the quality was in advance of recent, offerings, the market was livelier, but there was no oitotibb advance on late rates. Fat Cattle: The yarding of fat cattle totalled 265. and the eener.il nualit.v w.is fair to good, some useful sorts beinc yarded: The sale was very irregular, competition, being in bursts, but the genera! range cf value 3 remained practically on a par with that ruling; at the previous week's sale. Four fat working bullocks realised £11 12s. 6d. to £20; steers made £7 12s. 6d. to-£l3 55.: heifers, £5 to £10 55.; and drv cows, £b ss. to £9 17s. 6d.
