NEW ZEALAND INVESTMENT COMPANY. The -, balancc-shcct of the Now Zealand Investment Mortgage and Deposit Company, Limited, for the year ended March 31, has been circulated. The net profit for the year, after writiug off' £9 33. fid. for office furniture, is £1617 Is. 6d., to which has to he added £30 3s. lid. brought forward from tho • previous- year, making available ,£1647 10s. srt. Out of thif? the balance of £100 of preliminary expenses has been written off. The dividend for the year at the rate of s.per cent, tier annum absorbs £1011 16s. 10d„ the sum of £420 is carried to a reserve fund, and a balance of - £135 13s. 7(1. is carried forward. The report states:—"The directors desire specially to refer to the business of tho past year, which has nDt only been well maintained, • but the steady advance of the earlier years of the, company's existence has continued. Securities for loans have been throughout carefully selected, and arc of the best character and value."
