WELLINGTON GROCERS' UNION

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wellington Grocers' Union was held in tho Trades' Hall last evening, Mr. W. Wakeliu, president, occupying the chair. The financial statement for the halfyear mentioned that thirty-six , new members had been elected, and the period had finished with a cash asset totalling £09. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mr. W. Wakelin; vice-president, Mr. J. M'Keown; trustees, Messrs. 11. Evans, and AY: J. Cullon; treasurer, Jlr. J. Kennedy; secretary, Mr. E. J. Carey; committee, Messrs. -Dowling, Bond, Parkin, Mortimer, and Sharp. It was decided to send two delegates to .represent the union at the inaugural conference which is to bo hold at Christchurch during Easter week, for tho purpose- of forming a Grocers' Federation. A ballot was taken, and resulted in Messrs. W. Wakelin and W.' .1. Cullen being elected as the union's delegates.
