FIRES IN THE CITY.
Two calls to fires were received by the municipal brigade lasi night. The first uas to No. 9 College Street-a sevenroomed dwelling owned by Mrs. Harris and occupied by Mrs. Martha Campbell, ine front room and passage on the giound floor, and the Iront bedroom on the upper floor were considerably dania®ed by fire, and the rest of the' buildin» and its coutents were damaged by heat and smoke. There is a policy for .£4OO on the building with the Commercial Union office, while the contents are insured for ;C155 in the Phoenix office J, 1 '? 1 v cl- fl ' s brigndo was called to —U Cuba Street—an unoccupied sixroomed dwelling; Tlit- fire had apparently started on a mantel-shelf in tho back room. It was suppressed before it huti spread to any great extent. Insurances (it. any) on the building were not accertainable last night..
