FESTIVAL OF EMPIRE.
NO SOUTH AFRICAN EXHIBIT.

The South African Government, on the ground of expense, has declined to utilise the South Africau building •at tho Festival of Empire which Lord Plymouth erected at his personal cost. Lord Plymouth, who is head of tho executive of tho Festival of Empire, on the refusal of tho Governments of South Africa and Australia to participate for financial reasons, had buildings erected for them at his own cost. A cablo message on February 17 stated that tho Australian building thus erected was still standing empty. Mr. Batchclor, the Federal Minister for External Affairs, stated that ho did not-think the Advertisement would bo worth the money it would costabout £20,000. Lord Plymouth then npproached the State Agents-General,
