A few months ago.sonie cows belonging to a local dairy farmer became affected with a disease of the feet, and in order to ascertain exactly what the ailment is two of them have been font down to the Agricultural Laboratory at Wallaceville. Ducks and swans are reported to lie very plentiful on tho lake, particularly on tho western side. Several of the owners of land on the shores of the lake have given valuable assistance to tho Acclimatisation Society by endeavouring to prevent shooting iu the close season.
