Tho chairs and settees are covered with cretonne with black ground brightly flowered, and a f.cfa is covered with ro>o du Barri, and has black cushions. Tho carpet is grey. The grey room is popular as ever, and is usually relieved with purpl'e'from the lightest to Hie deepest shades. Vu\e brown rooms are frequently combined with "log oak black" accessories, and one of tho newest dining-rooms is in dull green, amber and dull, deep red. In this room, too, a note of hlncit is introduced by menus of the furniture. Tho black touch is only successful in well lighted rooms, where it well deserves the wtlcomo fashion is according it.
