OPAKI RIFLE CLUB.A SUCCESSFUL SEASOX. The members of the Opaki Rifle Club journeyed out to the Fairview Rifle Range recently, and put in an excellent day's shooting. As the day was an ideal one, sonic brilliant scores wore registered. In fact, the shooting may be termed a record for the range. The event was tho filial round of the championship, which ended in a win for the popular marksman. W. Winslade. This rifleman has been shooting in brilliant style for some time past. The following , riflemen registered pos-sibles-.—W. Winslade, 200 and 80ft yard?; A. Lowin and C. Munro, 500 yards; V. ■ Swan.-on, SlOfl yards. The championship looked a certainty for Winslnde, who had a lead of 1 points at the commencement of the day's ".-hoot," and he had increased this to S when shooting had finished for the flay. The ■'runner-up, M. M'lntnsh. filled the same , portion last year, being second to that solid veteran George Jlyde. The finest --hooting of tho clay was that of ex-champion li. J. .King, who nut together a brilliant, score of!)S at 80(1, iion, and 1000 yards. His -12 at 100(1 yards wns n splendid. bit. of work.
