WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION'S• MEETING. ■■'■•.- AX AUSTRALIAN VISIT DISCUSSED. The annual meeting of. the Wellington Lacrosse Association was held- in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening, .Mr- A. H. Casey presiding over a about twenty members. -.••■' In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet (a precis, of which has b.soii published),' the chairman...congratulated the association on the success which had'attended the.game List year. During the present season players had the visit of the Auckland representative team to look forward to. A considerable number of new players had been enrolled since last season, and a successful year was looked forward, to if .each player would constitute himself an 'apostle, bent on promoting tho interests of the game. A't the present time they had four clubs, and a move would probably be-made to form junior teams and grade tho players.

The adoption of tho report was agreed to without discussion. .The adoption of the balance-sheet was held;.over pending the receipt of an audited 'statement.. from the treasurer." The secretary, stated that as far -is he could gather .there was . a credit of £2 on , last ssason.'s working..

Mr. S. G. M'Govoin moved: "That the constitution oi the management committee of the association be altered to provide that the committee consist of two representatives from each affiliated club playing in the senior grade (whether or not such' club aho plays in the junior grade), and one representative from each club playing only in the junior grade, together with the elected-officers of the association;''viz., : patron, president vicepresident, secretary, and treasurer, exofficio. Objection was raised by a member that the necessary notice of motion had not been given, and it was urged that a special meeting would have to be called to deal with the matter. —The motion was ruled out of order. The election of officers resulted as under :-I'atron, Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P.; president, Mr. T. W. Hislop; vice-presi-dents, Hon. J. Carroll, Dr. Newman, Messrs. E. C. Levvey, C. J. Crawford, V. J. Bolton, 1". M. B. Fisher. M.F., Orton Stevens, and J. B. Speed; hon. secretary, Mr. E. Rankin; hon. treasurer, Mr, A. Jordan; hon. auditors, Messrs. Jantlce and Proud. It. was decided to recommend the Management Committeo to consider Iho advisableness of suggesting-Juno 2i to. the Auckland Association as the date for the Auckland-Wellington representative match. A suggestion was also made that in the event of the above date being accepted tho visitors should ba asked to play a match on the Monday, with the team leading for the local championship. The chairman remarked that a. proposal had lwen put forward that-an effort should be made to Ret an Australian team to visit New Zealand this year. Mr. M'Govcrn 'remarked that in his opinion an Australian team was out of the question,- unless the visitors would pay their own. expenses. There would be no gates here. To his mind the committee should work in t.ho direction of sending a.team over to Australia, where good gates wore obtainable. Mr. S. Meyer did not sec why a visit from .an Australian team could not be arranged. It would be more a matter of the Australians getting the time off than a. matter of money. : He moved that t.ho Management Committee open up negotiations with the Australian Associations with a view to arranging for a visit from an Australnn team. Sir. M'Govern moved an. amendment that it be left to (ho Management Committee to decide which scheme was the best, a New Zealand team for Australia, or an Australian team for New Zealand. The motion was carried. A suggestion was put forward that a junior grade be formed. After somo discussion, the matter was left in the hands of the Management Committee.
