DISASTROUS STRATFORD FIRE.
SEVERAL PERSONS INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Stratford, April 6. A disastrous fire occurred early this morning, destroying the largest twostory building in Stratford, known as the Trocadpro, containing Prebbles's Private Hotel (of about sixty rooms), also a row of shops on the ground floor, occupied by the Singer Sewing Machine Agency, A Eoacho (bootmaker), and Bowatcv and Co. (land agents). These were all totally destroyed, with their contents. G. Gould (confectioner), Lane (fruiterer), and Bcckitt and Roberts (painters and paporhangers) had their premises gutted and damaged by water. Throe persons were seriously injured and taken to the Stratford Hospital suffering from burns. Six others were slightly injured by burning and two through jumping from upstairs-windows. The condition of Miss K. G. Corson (milliner) is critical, and Miss Flora Thompson (telephone operator) is also in a serious condition. So far as can be ascertained the hotel furniture was insured for .£3OO in the London and Lancashire, and there is believed tn bo an insurance of .£30(10 on the building, the Commercial Union being principally affected. No further particulars are available.
