OPPOSITION IRRITATED.
SCRIMMAGE IN DIVISION LOBBY.
(By Telegraph—Press Association Copyrlcht! (Rec. April 7, 1.1 a.m.) London, April G. Slow progress is being made in the House of Commons with the Committee stage of the Parliament Bill. An amendment moved by Dr. A. Hillier, Liberal Unionist member for Hitchin (Hertfordshire), that the Houseof Lords be given power to " amend money Bills, was rejected, the voting being :— For the amendment 2S" Against the amendment , 199 Majority against SS The, Home Secretary, Mr. Winston Churchill, admitted the Australian Second Chamber had the power to amend money Bills, hut pointed out that it was constituted on a popular basis. There was a possibility that when the House of Lords was reconstituted, the Government would reconsider the point. The closure was constantly moved in the discussion of various amendments, and the Opposition's irritation resulted on one occasion in a slight scrimmage in the division lobby. There was much pushing, and members' tall hats were thrown off. . . .
