PARTNERS UNAULE TO GET BAIL.
By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyricht London, April 3. Further developments have taken place in connection with the failure of Messrs. Eowron Dros., leather merchants, of llcrmondsey, and (he subsequent arrest of the partners on charges of fraud. The creditors were to-day informed by the Official Receiver that the accused, John A. Bowron and Sydney Bowron, had been unable to obtain the bail of iIOOO fixed by the Court last week. The employee, Thomas Knight, also arrested, had similarly been unable to find his bail of I'oOO. The accused were charged with having conspired to obtain by false pretences a sum of .£2S,G7O, the property of Messrs. Booth and Company, of Bermondsey. They were before the Court on March 28, and were then remanded for eight days. John Bowron then stated that he had given Ihe Official Receiver all information. The Receiver now reports that no statement of the affairs of the firm has been lodged, but that the liabilities am estimated at a quarter of a million, and the assets are valued at ,£12,800.
