A Reception. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Strang, of Palinerston North, and Miss Miles, returned from a visit to England by the Ulimaroa yesterday. Dr. and Mrs. Mill, of Christchurch, were passengers by the Ulimaroa from Sydney yesterday, and proceeded south last night. Mrs. W. J. Beard, of "Ovingdean," Masterton, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Ramsden, at Mangamahoe. Miss Jessie Fulton (Blenheim), who has been staying with Mrs. Barrie, son., and Mrs. E. Barrio, "Lowlands," left on Saturday for Ihukoi, where sho will be the guest of Mrs. G. W. Vennell; Barryrnoro. Miss Barrio is visiting relatives at "Burnside," Ihukoi. Mr. and Mrs. C. Monro, of Masterton, are leaving for Auckland next month. A meeting of women in favour of an address being presented to Her Majesty tho Queen on the occasion of the Coronation is to be held in the rooms of the Wellington 'Piano Company, 124 Lnmbton Quay this afternoon at half-past three. . A dramatic entertainment is boiim arranged to take place in tho Northland School on April 5 for tho purpose of raising funds wherewith to furnish a sweet stall for the monster bazaar which is being held in tho Town Hall at Easter. "Betsy Baker" is tho name of tho farce which to to bo performed, and the title role is being taken by Miss Stella Putnam. All those in search of pretty hats should visit the rooms of Warnock and Adkin, over Mr. Hannah's hoot shop, in Lambton Quay, where a most interesting display is being held of imported millinery and various other things as well.. Tho display is only lasting for a few days, closing on Saturday at 1 o'clock, so that it is well to make an early viist.
