• MANAWATU AFFAIRS. The Management Conimittco of the Manawatu Rugby Union met on Monday evening, Mr. 13. 1). Hoben (president) being in the chair. A draft of the amended rules of the -union, to bo submitted to the annual meeting on Friday, was approved. The annual balance-sheet snowed a credit of «£GB to the general account and .£37 to the accident fund. The annual meeting of the Kin. Toa (Pnlmer'ston) Club was held on Monday night, Mr. J. Govan presiding. The report and balance-sheet showed the club to bo in a satisfactory financial position. The following officers were elected:—l'atron, Mr. E. 0. Hurley; president, Mr. J. M'Keiven; vice-presidents, Messrs. N. 11. Nash, A. 11. Rodgers, B. H. Kelliher, G. E. Trevor, H. Wollerman, and I l '. Moslem; delegates to the Rugby Union, Messrs. Stalker, Allen, and Greathead; club captain, Air. J. Govan; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. Hardie; management committee, Messrs. J. O'Connor, Allen, Stephens, Law,.Kilpatrick, and the other officers; selection committee, Messrs. Hardie, O'Connor, Stephens (senior); Messrs. Sheerin, H Govan, and Gibson (junior). A large number of new members were elected. NEW CLUB FORMED. A meeting was held at tho Family Hotel, Hutt, on Monday night, for the purpose of forming a new football club. Mr. J. Young occupied the chair. It was proposed that the new club bo called the Waiwetu Football Club. Mr. Oswald Johnson was proposed as patron; president. Mr. J. Young; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. P. Bunny, H. Baldwin, J. T. Hawthorne, G. Da"vn, and W. Harris; management committee, Messrs. J. Inglis, F. Greig, J. G william, W. Gwilliam, W. M'Kain, J. Young, inn.; selection committee, Messrs. W. Gwilliam,.J. Inglis, F. Tressider; secretary and treasurer, Mr. S. England.
