ACCLIMATISATION.
WAIKATO WANTS HOME RULE. A good deal of feeling has been manifested in the sunny north, consequent upon the temerity of tho Waikato in setting up an Acclimatisation Society and claiming jurisdiction as far as acclimatisation matters are concerned over one of the most important districts administered by tho Auckland Society. The Waiknto Society recently applied for registration, but it seems that cannot be granted until the territory over which it is to have jurisdiction has been outlined. This has not been arranged, for the simple reason that the Auckland Society strongly opposed tho threatened disintegration of the district. Yesterday tho Hon. ]). Buddo, Minister for Internal Affairs, intimated to a Dominion" representative that lie was writing to both the Auckland and \Vaikato Societies, inviting, them to settle the boundaries of the new district in a spirit of amit.v. As soon as that is> done, the Waikato Society will be registered, bailing a settlement, the Minister'intends to appoint a commission to defino the boundaries, so that whatever happens AVaikato seems to lie assured of homo rule in acclimatisation matters.
